Solo Performing

I've enjoyed playing solos from the very beginning of learning to play. I was brought up playing in slow melody competitions inside the brass band world, winning many of the slow melody and air with variations competitions in the London and southern counties before turning eighteen. I was also runner up (brass winner) two times for the Southend young musician of the year competitions.

When studying at the Royal Academy of Music, solo playing was a major part of my performance degree, undertaking a recital every year which helped build my confidence and ability as a maturing performer. In my first year, I performed a solo at the London Handel Festival on the baroque trumpet, and in my 2nd year, won the John Soloman Prize for Brass and Woodwind solo competition. I was also trumpet soloist for part the Bach Cantata series performed at the Royal Academy of Music (for cantatas 105 & 128).

Since graduating, I've continued performing recitals and solo spots with different orchestras and ensembles. Below are a few videos of previous performances from my Youtube channel

Some of the recordings here were taken from a recital in Berkhamsted on the 2nd of November in 2015.
